Replay - Capturing 20 years of New Zealand sporting glory

Author(s): Andrew Conaga

New Zealand | NZ Sport History

Produced in partnership with award-winning photographic agency Photosport on its 20th anniversary, this unique book revisits the highs and lows, the agony and ecstasy, the magic and the melodrama of the past 20 years in New Zealand sport. From New Zealand's winning streak in the 1992 Cricket World Cup to the All Blacks' long-awaited Rugby World Cup triumph in 2011, REPLAY brings those memorable moments back to life. Photosport's stunning images are enhanced with commentary from some of New Zealand's best-loved sporting heroes, as they relive those moments in their own words. New Zealand is a sports-mad nation and the appetite for nostalgia is high following the All Blacks' Rugby World Cup win. Highly photographic but features evocative comments from sports stars including Martin Crowe, Sean Fitzpatrick, Danny Morrison, Ruben Wiki, Hamish Carter, Alison Shanks, Dan Carter and more. Covers a wide range of sports including Commonwealth and Olympic Games, but has a definite weighting towards the mainstream (rugby, cricket, league). Will appeal to sports fans as well as those with an interest in photography. Photosport's founding director Andrew Cornaga has won numerous awards for his photography and has twice been named New Zealand Sports Journalist of the Year. Most recently, Cornaga won the coveted international IRB/Emirates Rugby Photograph of the Year 2011 for his image of Brad Thorn extending a helping hand to an Argentinean opponent in the Rugby World Cup (this photo features in the book).
